For this extra credit assignment we had to fully integrate two related or unrelated images or objects. I chose a high heel shoe and a matchstick. The name of my finished object is "The Hottest Heel". I was inspired by Christian Louboutain's shoe design and decided it would be fun to convert the heel into a different object. I placed the images in individual layers and ordered them accordingly. Using the masking tool I was able to block out the original heel of the shoe and replace it with the matchstick. Working on this project was actually pretty fun considering I'm familiar with these tools and techniques, it took about two hours. I Hope you like it.

Below are the original images.

For this assignment we had to use the gradient mesh tool to create a pear. I thought it was really interesting experimenting with the mesh placement and color tools. we used the pen tool to draw the outline and the stem and then began placing mesh. This seems like a useful tool to master under this application. I look forward to learning more and working on some more cool mesh projects.

For our final project we had to create a portfolio comprising of all our previous work for the semester.
This compilation was created using Adobe Indesign. Instead of using someone else's template, I browsed through a few before putting together my very own and used a pattern I found online. I wanted to create a playful design that tastefully showcases my work as an artist. The colors that I placed into the pattern were inspired yet again by the fondness I hold for the little island of Trinidad. I wanted my portfolio to have a tropical feel and easy flow. I separated images, text and patterns by layers to keep things from getting mixed up and worked on each of them individually. All pages have numbers and titles. Each project is accompanied by a brief artist statement explaining what was done. Upon completing my portfolio I truly realized how much work was done this semester. I enjoyed learning how to use the different adobe applications and am sure it will be a valuable asset in the future. Thank you for following me on my learning journey. All the best.

This week we learned how to use photoshop to create our very own tag brush using our personal logo which we created a few weeks earlier. This means that we can now brush it onto any project thats upcoming. We began by taking our logos and using a combination of other brushes and effects to provide almost an artistic twist.  Once completed we added it to our palette of brushes so that it can be accessed as needed in the future. We also learnt how to change the color and size of our tag brush which allows us to change how visible and noticeable it is ion a background. I thought this was a really cool assignment and had alot of fun manipulating my logo.

For this weeks' project we had to use photoshop to convert an image of ourself to color portraits using the adobe color scheme. I enjoyed working on an image of myself, it encouraged more detail in my execution. Once I chose a photo of myself, I converted it to black and white and then used different layers and masking techniques to fill in the different colors. Overall I spent about 5 hours working on them. Because we had to use 5 color palates for each image, I used one over the photo, one on my beard and hair, one on my eyes and ears, one on my lips and one on my shirt collar.  The six variations of the colors are; analogous, monochromatic, triad, complementary, complex and shades. I had fun completing this project and I'm glad I can now achieve more in photoshop.

For this project, we had to create business three designs cards for ourselves using our logos. I found this project to be really enjoyable as it was sort of a glimpse into the future, where we were all working professionals. Using InDesign is really interesting because you have alot of layout options to play around with. I think using the adobe programs for the past couple of months helped me become more familiar with the toolbars and gave me the skillset to complete this project. Overall I spent about three hours working on these and I am quite satisfied with my end result
