Hello, my name is Jeremy Xavier, I am a male Trinidadian born, Portuguese citizen who currently lives in Florida. I grew up in the city of Port of Spain, Trinidad. Our neighborhood was centrally located with easy access to groceries, restaurants and parks however, as the years went by and the crime rate increased drastically, I found myself appreciating our island beauty from behind the burglar proofing bars of my home. I suppose that's why I appreciate going for long walks and runs here, because I finally feel safe outdoors.  I love spending time at the beach however I grew used to the warm tropical waters and smooth sand which is found in Trinidad (the picture on the left) and sometimes have trouble appreciating the beaches around Tampa.

I am a fun loving, bilingual student who enjoys running, smoking and hanging out with friends. I took the opportunity to learn Spanish in Secondary School and was able to practice with the many Venezuelan neighbors who came flooding through our boarders as their country collapsed. Though only 20 years old I have worked for 4 years with my father in the freight forwarding industry and would like to pursuit a career in logistics and marketing. I have a passion for traveling and exploring all aspects of other cultures, especially culinary. I often find myself experimenting with different recipes while making dinner for my family, who has grown quite fond of my cooking.

My first feelings on this class were initially shock and horror at the sight of the syllabus and learning objectives, however once explained, those feelings turned into determination and curiosity. Though it seems like a heavy work load I am eager to explore the course content and navigate through the various programs we will be using. I expect to learn the basic operational skills of these platforms and aim to achieve all of the established learning goals. I enjoy being challenged in an academic environment and this course certainly seems like it will give me a run for my money.
